Trying something new.

So I’ve been getting myself into the habit of exercising daily, and it’s been going well. I’ve only missed two days in a month, which is pretty impressive for me if I may say so myself! I was getting a bit tired of walking every day, and I CANNOT run for the life of me (the puffing and chest pains as well as shin splints? Not a good combination.)

Then I found the Couch to 5K training programme. I’m not sure that I’ll ever get to run 5k all at once (!) but I like the way it starts for beginners. Basically you train three times a week; walking for 90 seconds, jogging for 60 seconds and keep alternating for 20 minutes.

I figured I’d stretch it out to my 30 minute walking session, so I started the programme today. It seems easy at first, jogging for 60 seconds? Easy! But when you get halfway through and your legs start hurting.. ack. My shins were not enjoying the bouncing that jogging gave them. I ended up pausing at 10 minutes and doing some squats/stretches, then pausing again at 20 minutes to repeat. Also when I finished my 30 minutes.

Squats are bloody painful! I can manage 10 in a row (trying to suck my tummy in at the same time, eee, too many things at once! brain overload!) and by 10 I’m struggling! When I finished my workout today, I also did a line dance to 2 of my Ipod songs, hehe. Nice way to cool down and plus, noone is home today to watch me make an arse of myself dancing around the room. Bonus!

In other random news, I’m down to 88.6kgs as of this morning. And I have also decided I need a tighter sports bra, because it seems like my boobs are flying around more than usual. Don’t tell me the only place I’ve lost these couple of kilos are off the one place I QUITE LIKE being large!!! Where the hell am I losing it from? My big toe?

Whine whine, nothing fits differently except one pair of 3/4 pants that were a little big to start with. When will I drop a dress size?
