Goodbye June..

Can’t believe that it’s almost over – and that I’m sitting here in my DREAM jeans! I was talking to Lala, who made me go put them on, and well.. ten minutes later I haven’t taken them off yet. (I’m wondering if they’ll magically feel more comfortable, haha. I still have bits hanging out.)

I weighed in this morning – 83.2kgs is the current verdict. Not too shabby, even though I am heavier now and ate Thai for dinner.. naughty, but oh so good.

I’m chugging along. How are you?

Run Aly, Run!

I just completed Week 5 of Couch 2 5K! Why is that so exciting?

Because the last session of Week 5 wanted me to run 20 minutes straight.

AND I DID IT JUST NOW !!!!!

(Albeit with a 20 second pause to retie a shoelace, but then I got back up and kept going!)

20 minutes.. Wowsers! My shins are killing me, but wow. I am so proud, and about ready to pass out, haha. Woohoo! I threw my jacket over the treadmill clock, turned my Ipod volume to MAX and just kept going. My shins hurt after roughly 5 minutes of jogging, they turned to lead weights at 10 minutes, but I just kept going. After as long as I could stand, I threw off the jacket and saw that I had been running for 17 minutes – surely I could go another 3? And I did!

(20 minutes of jogging = 2.5kms, not too shabby @ 8kms/hour)

Jase is bringing a bottle of wine and some Subway for dinner so we can celebrate. I love that boy so much, he’s bloody wonderful. I’m going to miss him SO much when he leaves. =(

84.0kgs

Last week – 84.8kgs // 186.56lbs
This week – 84.0kgs // 184.8lbs

I lost 800g, which is nearly a kilogram (1.76lbs) so I’m happy with that!

Now if only it wasn’t a cold Monday morning…. my motivation just SUCKS.

Under 85kgs.

It’s funny…. I always assumed that if I EVER got under 90kgs, you would instantly notice a difference in me. When 90kgs came and went, I changed that mindset to 85kgs, surely by that time I’d look like a whole new person.

I’m still just under that.. sitting at 84.8kgs so far, yet I’m not feeling any different. Jason is good about it, being supportive, telling me that HE notices – and since he’s the person that sees the most of me (literally!) I do think his opinion matters. But I have a harder judge to please… myself!  This time, I have it in my head that it must be 80kgs where the changes magically take place. If I get to 80kgs, I’ll look a million bucks.

I guess I’m just worried that in order to actually LOOK different, and BE a different size, I’ll need to get to some unattainable goal, like 60kgs or something – and that scares the shit out of me. There’s no way I could ever get to that, it’s just.. heck. I weighed 60kgs when I was in primary school. Call me paranoid.. that’s okay. I’ll take it. But I’m just starting to worry.

Hiatus.

So I know it’s been a LONG time since I updated this blog, but I am around and I *have* been doing okay. (Hi, Aimee! I think you’re the lone reader here, hehe.) I’ve been updating my Weight Loss blog at Extrapounds nearly every day, because it has an internal community of members and the people there are really lovely. But this one seems to get forgotten about pretty quickly, so I decided it was time for a catchup!

After the head cold from hell of the last two weeks, I started exercising daily again as of last Monday. I’m still doing my Couch to 5k programme, I WAS up to Week 4 before my Laser Eye Surgery, but went back to Week 3 after the recovery break – and only JUST finished that again. So as of today, I’m back at Week 4 again – halfway there. Week 4 involves 3 minutes of walking/3 minutes of running/5 minutes of walking/5 minutes of running, plus a warmup and cooldown walk. And my personal victory, was that yesterday I ran on my treadmill for 10 full minutes without stopping – yay! (I run like a dork, seriously, and I get stitches all the time, that’s how unfit I am!)

Anyway.. my weight went up a little bit when I was off sick and not working out, and I had this one week last week eating SO much crap – I literally had a different takeaway dinner nearly every night last week, starting with McDonalds and finishing with pizza. So needless to say, I was feeling guilty. Monday I hopped back on the bandwagon and this is how I ended up… a week later.

Last week: 86.8kgs // 190.96lbs
Today: 84.8kgs // 186.56lbs

Needless to say I am a very happy camper !! I am so close to my first goal of 80kgs…. and I just hit my mini goal of 85kgs, so I need to think of a way to spoil myself. :)
