No Scale Sunday!

I’m debating when to end my “No Scale” month, and need your input. Please take a minute to leave a comment depending on what you think.

I started on the 6th of August, after a bit of a binging weekend when Jason went overseas. I did decide I was going to spend all of this month scale free and then weigh in on the 1st of September. Now that I think about it though, it’s only three weeks without weighing. I’m debating leaving it until the 6th of September, to make it more even. What are your thoughts?

Vote 1: Weigh in early on the 1st of September. Why/Why not?
Vote 2: Weigh in evenly on the 6th of September. Why/ Why not?

Food eaten today – 2x toast for breakfast, grilled lite cheese & veg sandwich for lunch, 600ml diet cordial & water, snack pack of nutella (20g), dinner – to be determined. Not sure yet what will take my fancy!

Exercise done today – 60 mins, am proud of today! Instead of the usual walking, I added in some jogging too to spice it up. I’ve lost my jogging mojo lately, but here’s how I did.

10 minutes walk, 5 min jog x 4 repetitions.

I totalled 7.1km today!!! :)

No Scale Saturday!

I usually forget about posting on this blog over the weekend, although I’m not sure why. Last weekend I actually went out (gasp!) but this weekend? Very, very quiet. I spent this evening learning how to knit while watching television with my grandma. Don’t you wish you could come and hang out with me? (I have proudly knitted a tiny square, 12 stitches by 12 stitches. Although it doesn’t look remotely like a square. I think I’ll stick to buying my woolen goods.)

I had the most lazy day, just pottering around the house and watching movies. And making a slideshow gift for J for next month, as it’s our 5 year anniversary on September 21st. When it’s closer to the day, I’ll put it up on my main blog and you can take a peek at it there. It has taken me ages, so I hope he will like it.

I was feeling SO lazy that I wasn’t going to be bothered exercising – but I ended up walking for 30 minutes, at a relaxed pace. At least I got myself moving, that has to be a positive, yes? :)

Food eaten today – 2 x toast with vegemite for breakfast, 1 mint slice biscuit, 1 toasted banana & brown sugar sandwich for lunch, white tea, homemade lite lasagne for dinner, white tea.

No Scale Friday!

Thank goodness for the weekend. I’m so tired, I could sleep this whole weekend through and feel completely happy about doing so.

Nothing special about today, except how I was trying my hardest to avoid the evil junk food temptations that are for sale at our school’s canteen. You can read about that on my everyday blog HERE, if you’d like!

Food eaten today – 2 x weetbix, white tea, green apple, lite vanilla fruche, 2x bread with lite cheese, chicken breast with lite chicken soup sauce, potatoes & veggies. Tonight I’ll most likely use the leftover points/cals to indulge in some WW dessert puddings – 2 for four points sounds good to me!

Exercise done today – 60 minute walk, covering 6.6kms. Yay!

No Scale Thursday!

I had the biggest urge to eat JUNK today. No idea where it came from, I was just driving home and imagining eating at any/all of the restaurants I passed by. I wonder when I’ll ever get to the point where I’ve completely made the lifestyle change and won’t be tempted by junk any more? For now, it’s a big pain in the backside.

Food eaten today – 2x weetbix, lite blueberry yoghurt, 4x saos with lite cheese, banana sandwich, plain pasta with lite cheese, lite bag of popcorn & tea for snack.

Exercise done today – 30 minute walk, 3.2kms. I’m aching everywhere after the last few days of exercise. Since Monday, I have walked nearly 20kms, and I’m pooped.

No Scale Wednesday!

It’s been a long time since I recieved a compliment from anybody in regards to weight loss – but today as I was walking out to my car after school had finished, the canteen lady called me over and asked me if I was on a diet, because I looked like I was losing weight. (Maybe because I stopped eating all of her yummy but fattening food! Hee.) It was much needed, because I’ve been feeling like a big giant pig lately. My spare tire looks like it’s been expanding, not shrinking like it’s supposed to. Yuck! Maybe it’s all of the fatty foods from the weekend catching up with me.

Food eaten today – 3x toast with vegemite, green apple, saos with lite cheese & veg, 1 slice of bread with nutella, glass of orange juice, plain pasta with lite cheese, bag of lite 100cal popcorn.

Exercise done today – Walked for another hour, 6.6kms all up. Even my butt is hurting. That’s gotta be a good thing, right?

No Scale Tuesday

Back on track today – er, if we ignore the 20 M&M’s that I snacked on this afternoon when I got home – but you know, am not worrying too much about that now. Big picture? I should be able to have a handful of M&M’s if I so desire ‘em. And that’s how it is!

(Can you tell I have absolutely nothing spectacular to report today?)

Food eaten today – 3x toast for breakfast (I was so hungry!) green apple, lite berry yoghurt, banana sandwich, M&M’s, glass of diet lemonade, plain pasta with light cheese for dinner.

Exercise done today – walked 6.6kms in an hour. It was an awesome walk, powered on through the shin splints and had a grand old time. Wish I had that much time & energy to spare every day of the week.

No Scale Monday (Hello Week 3!)

Well, had a bit of a bender weekend – and my eating went out of the window, so to speak! Here’s why:

On Friday afternoon, I got home from work and found out that my grandmother had begun feeling ill that day, and had been taken to the ER at her local hospital because she couldn’t walk, was feeling pretty ill. Needless to say, mum and I zoomed over there at 3:30 and were at her side until she had been admitted for tests. We left the hospital at 11pm, got home at 11:45pm. McDonalds in tow. Blargh. (What else is open that late? We sure as hell weren’t cooking!)

On Saturday I ate well in the daytime, but went to the movies in the evening with a friend from work. We ordered a pizza while we were there (yes, we were in gold class again!!) and thought it would be gourmet – turned out to be a “bake at home” in the oven style pizza. Ate three pieces of that, as well as a few handfuls of popcorn and some maltesers. Naughty, naughty.

Fast forward to our night out on Saturday – a frozen strawberry daiquiri, a jim beam & coke, and two smirnoff ice vodkas later, I think my calories went through the roof. Washing it down with McDonalds hotcakes the morning after, as well as popcorn and M&M’s at the Sydney vs Melbourne netball grand final didn’t help.

Phew. Did I mention I’ve not exercised since Thursday? Great week, eh?

Ah well. I could have eaten a LOT worse, I suppose. But it’s back on today. Aside from a few leftover M&M’s, it’s been good. Am back on track!

Food eaten today – 2x Weetbix, WW peaches in jelly, Fruche light yoghurt, banana sandwich, handful of M&M’s, plain spaghetti pasta w/ lite cheese for dinner.

Exercise done today – 30 minutes total. Ran for 8 minutes, walked for 2. Ran for another 8 minutes, walked for 2. Finally ran for the last ten minutes. Running total: 26 minutes. Walking total: 4 minutes. I did stretch my workout out a lot today, with about six pauses in between (around every 5 minutes or so) because I have a VERY painful shin. Horrid splints. Just when I think I’ve got rid of them, they return! Gasp!

No Scale Thursday!

Argh, just ate dinner and I am completely and UTTERLY stuffed! So full I have to go and sit down so my belly can comfortably expand, haha. And I have a whole lot of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows to read, so this gives me a good excuse before bed.

Food eaten today:

Breakfast – white tea, weetbix
Morning tea – green apple, vanilla fruche yoghurt
Lunch – cheese & cracker snack, grilled cheese & veg sandwich
Dinner – plain spaghetti with chicken mince & herb meatballs – WW recipe.

Exercise done today:

Walked 3.1km in 30 minutes. Nice and leisurely, as my shins are hurting.

No Scale Wednesday!

Can’t wait til the weekend… can’t wait til the weekend… say it with me!

Am completely and utterly drained work wise, and a little pissed off too. I had such a great time mentoring the university student teachers last semester that I requested one for the next semester too – and turns out that the teacher who co-ordinates the prac decided to keep one for herself, so I miss out! (The part that shits me the most is that she is only working part-time, so the other two days the student teacher will be supervised by the part-time teacher of the class, who is only first year out herself!!! GRRR.)

Anyway. That puts a downer in my plans, because I really was looking forward to being a mentor again. Must think happy thoughts… nope. Not happening. Am mad.

Food eaten today:

Breakfast – weetbix, white tea
Morning Tea – green apple, cheese & cracker snack
Lunch – Sandwich w/ cheese & bega stringer
Dinner – Roast Pork on a small bread roll, diet cordial
After dinner snack – Weight Watchers caramel pudding (Since I have spare points, I’m going to make them together as one large pudding, equalling 4 WW points.)

Exercise done today:

Did intervals, which was good for my lungs and catching my breath, but have resulted in my shin splints acting up again. 7:30 running & 2:30 walking x 3. Ended up running for 22:30 minutes (3.1km total running) and walking for 7:30 minutes (0.8km total walking). Today’s grand total? 30 minutes exercise, 3.9km covered. Not bad.

No Scale Tuesday!

Another day, another day. Am still hungry. All the time. REALLY HUNGRY. No idea what’s causing it, but as long as I snack on the right things, it can’t be helped. Really have nothing spectacular to report – I’m having a sinking feeling that when I get on the scales in a few weeks, that my weight won’t have change.

(Argh! I know! Should be thinking positive! Blargh!)

It’s just that I’m constantly looking in the mirror trying to spot a difference, and I still have all the same lard in all the same places. Am thinking I’ll have measurements taken on September 1st and see if there is a difference, maybe that’ll stop me being so grumpy.

Food eaten today:

Breakfast – white tea, green apple (breakfast on the run, late for a staff meeting!)
Morning Tea – green apple, lite strawberry yoghurt, bega stringer
Lunch – banana sandwich, cheese & cracker snack
Dinner – big bowl of Irish beef & veggie stew, with homemade dumplings, diet cordial. YUM.

Exercise done today:

Walked 5km in 45 minutes at 6.5km/hour speed. Felt awesome afterwards!
